Serious Presents Neil Gaiman: The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains

Neil Gaiman is one of the most celebrated writers of our time and the bestselling author of novels for children and adults, including American Gods, The Ocean At The End Of The Lane, and The Graveyard Book (the only title to win both the Newbery and Carnegie Medals).

He is also the winner of other numerous literary honours, including the Hugo, Bram Stoker, and World Fantasy Award. His DC Comic series, Sandman, was described by the LA Times as the greatest epic in the history of comic books. His work has been adapted for film, television, and radio, including Stardust, directed by Matthew Vaughan, and the animated feature film Coraline.

In a revolutionary new concept of synchronised multi-media storytelling, Neil Gaiman will read aloud his story The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains. The renowned artist Eddie Campbell (From Hell) has illustrated the story and FourPlay String Quartet have created an entirely new underscore to the story.

The Truth Is A Cave In The Black Mountains was originally commissioned by Sydney Opera House for the Graphic Festival – this performance, and the one the next evening, are its European premiere.
