Louis Lortie
Internationally acclaimed clasical pianst from Montreal, Canada. Louis Lortie made his professional debut at the age of 13 and in 1984 won the Busoni Competition. He was also a prizewinner at the Leeds Piano Competition. In 1992, he was named Officer of the Order of Canada and received both the Order of Quebec and an honorary doctorate from Universite Laval. Louis Lortie is a leading interpreter of the music of Beethoven but his extensive repertoire embraces such diverse composers as Ravel, Chopin, Mozart, Poulenc, Rachmaninov and Stravinsky.
