Fat Freddy's Drop + Mr Scruff
With a triumphant 2013 under their belts, Fat Freddy’s Drop have announced their biggest ever headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace on 18th October, 2014.
The New Zealand band hit new heights this year with the release of their third LP ‘Blackbird’. The truest reflection of the band's musical philosophy to date, 'Blackbird' brought together the band's sprawling influences, from disco to soul, house to electronic funk. They marked the release at a sold out Village Underground in June and celebrated their highest ever UK chart position. This was followed by another sold-out run across the UK in October finishing up at Brixton Academy.
"After being together for 14 years, it feels like we're just getting going.” says DJ Fitchie. “The band is loving the bigger stages and the opportunity to explore more impressive production."

A seven-piece band hailing from New Zealand who are purveyors of a Pacific funk/reggae explosion, combining bottom heavy funk, jazz, deep dub and skanking roots reggae. With some sweet soul vocals, a resident DJ and a horn section bringing an old world jazz charm to this unique fusion of styles.

Initially inspired by the 2 Tone sound, the now legendary Ninja Tune DJ, Mr Scruff is famed for his awesome hip-hop sound, his epic six-hour sets and his sense of the comic. His sets are a mixture of deck-related wizardry and animated tom-foolery and will leave even the most hardened of anti-dance music critics grinning and boogieing the night away.
