The Paul Dunton Orchestra, Sophie Janes, Phoebe Katis

In association with the Wandsworth Arts Festival, Paul Dunton presents an evening of independent music in the stunning Globe theatre at The Bedford situated in Balham, London featuring The Paul Dunton Orchestra, Sophie Janes + band and The Phoebe Katis Band.

Singer-songwriter, Paul Dunton leads his own unique cross-over orchestra providing a rousing and atmospheric mix of alternative and pop with a classical twist. Performing both Paul's own compositions and a varied selection of uniquely arranged standards from a wide range of artists, the line up of 8 violins, 4 cellos, flute, bass and percussion accompanies Paul on vocals and piano, joined by his lead vocalists, Charlotte Andrew and Poppy Alice. Depending on the size of the venue, the orchestra can perform as a compact 6-piece up to its full complement of 19 musicians. Influences include Massive Attack, Elbow, Morcheeba, Zero 7 and Turin Brakes.

Sophie Janes spent the early part of 2014 touring her set in South East UK and Germany, and the rest of 2014 writing, arranging and co-producing her debut album, ‘The Fog’, a haunting and powerful production that draws on influences which range from Lana Del Rey, Kate Bush and The Civil Wars - through to cinematic epics such as The Lord of the Rings, The Hunger Games and TV’s Game of Thrones.

Phoebe Katis draws her influences from a wide variety of artists; Alicia Keys, Lianne La Havas, Laura Mvula, Joss Stone, Norah Jones, Melody Gardot, Emily King and Kimbra to name a few. Now settled in London Phoebe has her sights set on the big game, already connecting with producers and songwriters, and writing for film. Her track 'All Of My Life' is featured in the Modern British War Film 'Kajaki. The True Story', released in November this year. With a big voice, big ambitions, and pure, honest talent, Phoebe is definitely one to watch.
