Omar Souleyman, Clap! Clap!, Simbiosi

Syria’s most successful musical export, singer Omar Souleyman, brings his wild dance party to London's KOKO for Convergence on Wednesday 16th March.

From Syria in the Hasake region, Omar earned his reputation as an incredible live performer, singing at weddings, birthday parties and christenings. Souleyman made dabke known to an international audience, thanks to his incredible live performances, his remixes for Björk’s Biophilia and his 2013 record Wenu Wenu produced by Four Tet.

Support comes from Clap! Clap! - Featuring traditional Italian folk rhythms and melodies, mixed with a global harvest of found-sounds smashed through an electronic beat machine mindstate.

Italian DJ/Production duo Simbiosi released ‘Elements’ for Werkdiscs/Ninja Tune in 2015 - a 3-part box set of fourteen tracks spanning techno, industrial, hardcore and abstract explorations. They’ve produced remixes for Actress and Vaghe Stelle for Margot Records, and open for Omar Souleyman at KOKO.
