Laughterhouse Live!: Jason Manford, Stewart Francis, Jason Byrne, Justin Moorhouse, Daliso Chaponda, Chris Cairns
Liverpool’s Laughterhouse Comedy Club returns to Liverpool Philharmonic with another outstanding and completely unique bill, this time featuring: Justin Moorhouse, Daliso Chaponda, Jason Byrne, Stewart Francis, Jason Manford and your Master of Ceremonies, one-time Liverpool Comedian of the Year, Chris Cairns.
Where once there was a myth circulating amongst comics on the national comedy circuit that Liverpool could be a tough city to perform in, today it has a glowing and growing reputation as the best. Liverpool’s Laughterhouse Comedy Club has enjoyed several years of success down at its base at The Slaughterhouse on Fenwick Street, and has established itself as the city’s premier stand-up experience, not just for audiences, but for the comedians too: now some of the big names the club can attract come together at Liverpool Philharmonic for a momentous night for comedy fans.
Please note the show will contain adult language and content.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
This event takes place at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Renowned for his hilarious observations and loveable, friendly delivery, Jason has been a firm favourite with comedy fans of all ages since his first solo stand-up show earned him huge critical acclaim and a nomination for the prestigious Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2005.
‘8 out of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘The Nightly Show’ (ITV1), ‘Sunday Night at the Palladium’ (ITV1), ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC One), ‘Have I Got News For You’, (BBC One), QI (BBC Two) and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ (ITV1) have all helped establish Jason as a nationally known comic.
'Effortlessly entertaining' (Evening Standard)
'He's blessed with the sort of laid-back charm and sharp turn of phrase you can't manufacture' (The Daily Telegraph)
'Manford retains an affably jovial demeanour that makes him warmly enjoyable company' (Chortle)
'What Manford does best: classic, chirpy-chappie stand-up' (The Guardian).

'With Francis it's all about puns... He'll fill every minute with comedy bargains in the form of non-stop quick-fire gags, rarely giving you time to cease giggling until the next one starts... Quite simply, the service Francis provides is good old-fashioned joke telling with a hook, punch-line and a dose of panache thrown in for good measure' (Warwick Arts Centre)
'A brilliant comic brain... this stand-up cracks some of the best one liners I've ever heard' (The Guardian).
'Perfectly crafted gags' (The Sunday Times).
Stewart Francis was named in Ents24's top 5 hardest-working comedians of 2015.

Jason Byrne's style is a free-wheeling, high energy brand of lunacy that takes the audience on a helter-skelter tour of his offbeat mind, helped along by his curious array of bizarre props. He has performed all over the world and has a ever-growing international following.
'The outright king of live comedy' (The Times).

Daliso is a versatile African comedian equally comfortable talking politics, romance, filth or religion. As such, he has performed in such diverse venues as churches, casinos, strip clubs and sports bars and was a finalist on Britain's Got Talent 2017. He has lived in countries where the press is not allowed to criticize the government, and in others with no libel laws where they can say anything. He has been both a journalist and a jaded newsreader.
Daliso has appeared at many festivals that have included Melbourne, Edinburgh, Singapore and Cape Town Festivals. He is also a prolific fiction writer and has had his science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction published in numerous magazines and anthologies. He also co-wrote a play that aired on BBC Radio 4.
'Full of extravagant gestures and impassioned speeches. He inspires whoops and cheers from his watchers. Highly recommended' (BBC)
'A joy to listen to. Provocative, poignant and ultimately hilarious' (The Guardian)
'I laughed so much I thought I'd pass out!' (The List)
'It takes a special kind of act to work on both sides of the Atlantic (as well as across Africa), but it seems an easy transition as he compels the crowd with his racial and socially insightful comedy' (News and Star, Carlisle)
'Absolutely [took] the roof off the place. Brilliant, brilliant act' (The Frog and Bucket).

With bags of charm and a natural enthusiasm which makes him irresistible to audiences Chris may not look very quick on his feet but he more than makes up for it with his speed of thought.
He has gained a reputation for being able to handle the toughest of rooms with his sharp put downs and cutting remarks in addition to being known all over the Northwest as a friend to the audience but a deadly foe to the heckler. He was also the winner of the Eric Morecambe Comedian of The Year (2002) and Liverpool Comedian of The Year (2003). Amiable, chatty. People love him. Oh, and he tells pretty funny jokes too.
