Ballad Of The Martin Dreadnought Film Premiere

To celebrate 100 years since their first dreadnought, Martin has produced a documentary called 'Ballad Of The Martin Dreadnought', which you can see the premiere of at FACT, Liverpool.

Martin acoustic guitars are part of the fabric of popular music, and for decades Martin has been one of the top choices for musicians playing folk, pop and rock music.

Famous users include The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page, Kurt Cobain, James Taylor, Johnny Cash, Joan Baez and many others. To mark 100 years since their first Dreadnought model, Martin has produced a documentary, narrated by actor and Martin player Jeff Daniels: The Ballad of the Dreadnought.

The film traces the rise of the Martin Dreadnought, from selling only a few dozen guitars for its first 20 years to becoming the musical companion played in almost every musical genre in every corner of the world.

Some of the people interviewed in the feature include Martin's current CEO Chris Martin IV, Jeff Daniels, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and The Byrds' Roger McGuinn.

Professional Music Technology is hosting a very special event at FACT cinema in Liverpool. The event takes place on Tuesday, 3rd May, and will include, besides the film screening, a live Q&A via Skype to the Martin Factory.

It's an unique chance to ask questions directly to Martin CEO Chris Martin IV and Amani Duncan, Martin's Vice-President and producer of the film. Both will have great stories to tell. The audience can ask questions about the film and about more technical questions on the instruments.

Public in attendance will get a custom laser-etched soundhole cutout commemorating the event and a print copy of The Martin Journal, besides other cool stuff!
