Matt Schofield

The award winning blues guitarist Matt Schofield and his trio will deliver a master-class in high velocity musicianship and quality song-writing when they play at Lichfield Guildhall on Friday 6th March.

A three time winner of the British Blues Award guitarist of the year in 2010, 2011, and 2012, his sound takes from a myriad of sources to produce a sound and style that is uniquely his. The British soul of Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood, the funk of The Meters, the blues sound of BB King and Albert Collins, and the dexterity of Hendrix are all featured in a sound and style that is uniquely Schofield's own.

With the organ virtuoso Johnny Henderson and the drummer Evan Jenkins, their sound blends blues, rock, and jazz atmospherics in a way that attracts audiences from all corners.
