Nick Dewhurst Band
A graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire, Nick Dewhurst, has formed a new five-piece band with graduates of the Conservatoire. The quintet play a mixture of tunes inspired by some of Nick's favourite trumpeters plus some of Nick's own compositions. Expect to hear tunes from Freddie Hubbard, Tom Harrell and Chet Baker.
Walsall Jazz Orchestra
John Hughes started this 20 piece dynamic, big band 40 years ago. They play compositions by Chick Corea, Mike Gibbs and Pat Metheny. Their allegiance is to band composers Tim Amann and Nick Dewhurst. With their rhythm section driving them along you will hear a strong rock infusion which appeals to listeners.
Blast Off!
Lichfield's funkiest, grooviest band. At the last count there were 25 members who play a instruments from saxes, and trumpets to flutes, and big tuba all with a forceful rhythm section.
Walsall Jazz Orchestra
Award-winning nineteen-piece contemporary big band playing a mixture of Pat Metheny, Mike Gibbs and Chick Korea, as well as their own compositions.
