Biography

Biography is a new commission platform that celebrates and recognises the work of experienced dance practitioners. This year feature new choreography from Brenda Edwards, former soloist with English National Ballet and Jackie Guy, former Artistic Director of Kokuma, plus more to come.

This event also celebrates the launch of Creolizing Dance in a Global Age, a new publication that brings the thoughts of leading dance practitioners and academics together to explore what it means to be Creole, the complex relationship between creolization and dance, and the natural embodiment this has within the dynamics of Caribbean dance forms.

Copies of Creolizing Dance in a Global Age will be available to buy on the evening, or can be pre-ordered for a special discounted price when purchased alongside tickets for the event.
