Three Lancaster Poets

Three top-class poets whose collective track record includes prize-winning poems and collections and praise from fellow writers in the world of published poetry.Mike Barlow has won many major poetry competitions including the National Poetry Competition 2006 with his poem 'The Third Wife'. His first collection Living on the Difference won the Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition.

Ron Scowcroft was twice longlisted for the National Poetry Prize and placed in several major competitions including The City of Derby, Magma and The Yorkshire Open. Ron won joint first in The McLellan in 2013 and is a co-founder of Lancaster's April Poets.

Carole Coates has published extensively in the literary press, with four full collections published by Shoestring Press.She is interested in blending the lyric and the narrative and this year Shoestring Press will publish her pamphlet of prose poems 'The Stories They Told Her' a short narrative which she hopes will be published before she comes to Leek.

The event is hosted by moorland writers Pamela Brough and Roger Elkin  with music from John Pursaill and possible mystery guest.
