Furnace - Scratch

Furnace - Scratch is an informal showcase of raw and untested performance ideas. They invite artists from all disciplines and at every stage of their careers to send ideas that they’d like to try out in front of the audience.

Furnace - Scratch provides a safe, receptive and open environment for artists to interrogate a new project, to push at the boundaries of their creativity, to try, fail, and try again.

It's not a place to show an extract of a pre-existing production and it's not a place to pitch work. It’s a place for conversation and experimentation.

Each Scratch lasts no more than ten minutes and they’ll programme 4 or 5 Scratches per evening. Afterwards, the audience will have a chance to give instant feedback, allowing the artist to respond and develop their idea.

There will be a short break in between each Scratch, to allow for the stage to be reset and for audiences to get a drink and talk to each other.
