Blood And Ice

Liz Lochhead, Appointed Scots Makar – the National Poet for Scotland – from 2011-2016, tells the tale of the creation of the story of Frankenstein. Through Mary Shelley's flashbacks we see the eerie similarities between the story and her own life.

This beautifully written play gives a fascinating insight into the lives of Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron and covers philosophical and political issues that are just as relevant now as they were back in the 19th Century when Shelley began writing the novel.

Come and see another side to 'Frankenstein' in its 200th anniversary year!?
