Willie Thorne is a former English professional snooker player, now better known for his commentary and television appearances.
He began playing by accident, when his father took a job in the local conservative club – and nine months later, at the age of 14, made his first century break. In the years that followed he won numerous boys and juniors Billiards and Snooker events, before turning pro in 1976 after his appearance on television’s popular Pot Black.
His greatest snooker achievement was winning the 1985 Classic in Warrington, but in total he won 13 tournaments around the world including China, New Zealand and of course Great Britain.
Willie will be talking about his career and will be supported by two excellent comedians, Sean Percival and Sully O`Sullivan.
