Following the multi-nominated “Little Shop of Horrors” and the multi-award winning ”Rent”, PAP Productions are back at Hyde Festival Theatre this November with the ultimate hair rock musical “Rock of Ages” by Chris D’Arienzo.

“Rock of Ages” is set on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles at the end of the 1980’s and tells the story of Drew, an aspiring rock star currently working as a barman at Dupree’s Bourbon Rooms; and Sherrie, an aspiring actress fresh off the bus and in the big city for the first time. Their bourgeoning relationship is cut short by the arrival of rock star Stacee Jaxx who has come to play his last gig with his band at the venue that started it all before the Bourbon Room is flattened by a German businessman to make way for a shopping mall. Packed with comedy and very much tongue in cheek, “Rock of Ages” features some of the huge rock anthems from the period including “Here I Go Again”, “Wanted Dead Or Alive”, “More Than Words” and Journey’s huge hit “Don’t Stop Believing”.

“Rock of Ages” is being staged by the same production team that brought the other two PAP Productions to the Festival Theatre and features some exceptionally talented performers from the local area. It promises to be a great night out, although some of the language and innuendo may be a little strong for younger theatre goers.
