Brighton indie-folk stalwarts The Galleons bring an eclectic selection of their favourite artists from across the UK to one of Brighton and Hove's best small venues.

By putting the night on every couple of months The Galleons have been able to focus on quality not quantity and this month's line up is no different.

Joe Wilkes is a songsmith through and through. His guitar playing is outstanding but never overstated, supporting beautifully crafted songs that reference the troubadors of the 60s folk revival but brought bang up to date. With insightful lyrics and and a willingness to take on important subjects from the political to the personal it's not hard to see why Joe is so well respected on the circuit. We're very excited to have him join us for a rare Brighton appearance.

RW Hedges new album The Hunters In The Snow makes for an immersive and often revelatory journey through various musical landscapes that rise and fall throughout. Guided by Luca Neiri’s delicate vision, the new record is quietly dominated by its own restraint, the pair’s love for the Easy Listening era of the 1950s and 60s filtered through a keen ear for doo-wop and rhythm-and-blues, resulting in an album that finds a place all of its own in the hustle and bustle of this new world; existing as a tender escape from the busy London world that underpinned its creation, full of quaint retreats and charming idiosyncrasies.

The Galleons are in the midst of an experimental phase as the line up becomes more fluid and they work out how to combine new material with old. This month sees the return of some old faces and new instrumental combinations.
