This event has been and gone.
Darlings of the London jazz circuit, this formidable threesome are nothing short of spectacular. If you love jazz, you are in for a rare treat; if you don't - you will do after this gig. This is 18 karat sonic pleasure.
Hot on the heels of their critically-acclaimed album Trialogue (released on the 33Jazz label), The Marco Marconi Trio have recently thrilled audiences with their contemporary jazz stylings at iconic London nightspots like Ronnie Scott's and the 606 Club.
Led by Marco Marconi, Perugia-born pianist known as The Doctor, and ably assisted by rising stars Tom Farmer (double bass, of Empirical fame) and Emiliano Caroselli (drums), this dynamic combo comes with a venerable pedigree, honed here in the UK and abroad.
Marconi's distinct cinematic compositions are skillfully bolstered by Farmer and Caroselli's inspired musicianship. Their jazz is spellbinding, both on record and in atmospheric venues, captivating everyone from lovers of live music to jazz critics.
Melding original tracks with classic jazz standards, the trio has honed a winning formula. Their latest album New Roads fuses bebop, ballads, bossa nova, tango and moody pop, and features one of Europe's leading jazz saxophonists, Max Ionata.
In an age when we tend to think we have heard it all, The Marco Marconi Trio delivers something truly fresh. This is eclectic jazz for the 21st century - edgy, soulful, dynamic and inspiring.
