Nothing was more defining than the Indie/BritPop movement during the 1990's when bands such as Oasis, The Stone Roses, Pulp and Blur re-invigorated the British guitar scene with hits such as Don't Look Back in Anger and Common People. They rode to the top of the charts on top of the great Madchester wave dragging a Tory oppressed British youth along with them fuelled by cigarettes and alcohol.
