On Sunday 9th February the Hertford Corn Exchange will host a concert UP YOURS CANCER! from 4-7pm.
Stevenage resident, musician & music teacher, Steve Young, made global news back in April as one of the first people in the World to receive a revolutionary new mRNA Cancer jab for melanoma. He said "If it helps the cause, I'm happy to be a human pin cushion, and hopefully one day Cancer will just be another boring subject in school history lessons". Steve was invited to meet King Charles III and the Queen Consort during their visit to London's UCLH MacMillian Centre.
The treatments are soon finished and it's time for Steve to give back to those who have helped through the year - namely MacMillan Cancer Support & University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) Cancer Fund.
Join us for a very special intimate music event featuring celebrited Artist Nik Kershaw, and other top UK acts and local favourites.
LOCATION: Corn Exchange, 39 Fore Street, Hertford, SG14 1AL
DATE: FEBRUARY 9th 2025, 4 - 7pm (u18's allowed accompanied by an adult).

We are 'Steve Young + The Real Time Players' a four piece Rock/Blues outfit that is best described as a band with head nodding grooves, filthy guitar riffs, hooky choruses, face melting guitar solos and a lot of good banter with the audience. The band has had a fantastic festival season in 2024 and with a new album on the way it’s time to look at 2025 dates Our 4th album 'Famous For A Day' is a welcome return to the style of music that inspired Steve as a beginner but with a great sense of the musical journey he’s been on for the last 30+ years. ‘Famous For A Day’ will be released on March 6th as Vinyl only with a digital release a few weeks later. Singles ‘Looks Like You’ & ‘Feelin Fine’ are already out with a few more planned. The album launch gig is at The Fiddlers Elbow in Camden The album title refers to April 26th 2024 when, for one whole, day Steve was literally on the front page of every newspaper and lead story on most TV channels around the world for being the first to receive a revolutionary new cancer vaccine. The interviews still continue, recently he featured on a news story in Brazil watched by 120 million viewers. The piece ended with Steve performing one of his new songs on a park bench in London with the presenter joining in 2024 Highlights have included The Isle Of Wight Festival, Goatfest, Black Deer Festival, Old Town Live (Stevenage & Ware), Musical Mystery Tour Hertford, Corn Exchange Hertford, The Horn St Albans and many more pubs & clubs…
