Cafe Society:

This acclaimed words-and-music show tells the true story of the first racially-desegregated jazz club in New York - Cafe Society, which opened in December 1938. The club was the launch pad for Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Sarah Vaughan and many others. Full of swinging jazz, blues, gospel and bebop, the show follows the venue’s thrilling struggles and triumphs to its eventual demise in America’s ‘Red Scare’ of the late 1940s.

Sax Appeal:

Take this core group, add the elite of UK brass and you have the Sax Appeal Big Band! Performing a wide range of music – mostly original compositions by Derek Nash – this will be a rare opportunity to hear this outstanding big band performing Derek’s award-winning compositions.
