"On the night of 23 December 1944, Boeing B-17 (Flying Fortress) 43-38812 of the 749 Bomb Squadron, USAAF, crashed just outside Great Rollright. Eight of the nine crew were killed. On the afternoon of Sunday 30 April 2017, a memorial to these airmen will be unveiled at Great Rollright Village Hall. And in the evening (from 7.30 pm) FiddleBop will be whooping it up, 1940s style! See you there?"
Info provided by the Event Organiser
Hot jazz swing with that gypsy zing! Sparkling songs and terrific tunes! FiddleBop's music:
- Is passionate, powerful, and mightily rhythmical, yet has the delicacy that comes only from acoustic instruments.
- Has its roots in 1930s Paris but is bang up to date.
- Features soaring, hi-energy violin; fluent, quirky, driving guitars; earth-striding double bass, and graceful vocal harmonies (and the occasional excitement-fuelled bellow).
- Always has a dash of wit and humour!
