The Gallant Sixteen And Twine It Weel

Jointly devised and performed by Christine Kydd and Fiona J Mackenzie, 'Twine it weel…' explores the common ground of women’s experience in Scots and Gaelic song. Including songs, stories, photographs, film footage and original sound recordings – the show also features Gillian Frame, Katie Mackenzie and Yvonne Lyon.

Inspired by the 18th century Ayrshire weavers who established Britain's first known workers’ co-operative, Christine Kydd and Ewan McVicar’s new collaboration, The Gallant Sixteen, traces the Scottish co-operative movement’s development up to the present day.
