Tomorrow's Parties & The Coming Storm: Forced Entertainment
Tomorrow’s Parties draws on ideas of utopian and dystopian projections, the optimistic stories we tell ourselves and on the pleasures of invention that arise as the work twists and turns in performance. From these conjectures, day dreams and gripping but well-worn narratives the piece will move out in different directions to other kinds of speculations – the realistic, the personal and the evidently fantastical.
The Coming Storm:
In this new work international innovators Forced Entertainment tangle and cross-cut multiple stories to make a compelling and unstable performance. From love and death to sex and laundry, from shipwrecks to falling snow, personal anecdotes rub shoulders with imaginary movies, and half-remembered novels bump into distorted fairytales.
One of Britain's foremost experimental theatre companies, producing stimulating, challenging and provocative work which creates exciting encounters with audiences. The company consists of a core group of six artists lead by Artistic Director Tim Etchells. Over the past 24 years they have worked alone and with a variety of collaborators from the worlds of dance, visual art, music and theatre to create a body of work which has earned them an international reputation.
