Scottish Ballet dances Stravinsky.
Scotland’s national dance company returns with a programme inspired by the music of one of the most distinctive and influential composers of the 20th Century, Igor Stravinsky, performed by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
Le Baiser de La Fée (The Fairy’s Kiss), by renowned Scottish-born choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan, will feature stunning new set and costumes. The ballet is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Ice Maiden and tells the story of a boy destined for immortality after being kissed at birth by a fairy.
The Rite of Spring, choreographed by Scottish Ballet’s Artistic Director Christopher Hampson, brings raw physicality to this programme. Featuring only three dancers, it tells the story of two brothers as they grow together, come of age and descend into a violent confrontation.
