Gamelan North Exhibition

Originating in Indonesia, the Gamelan is an ensemble of a large number of instruments such as xylophones, drums and gongs, tuned to be played together. A new Gamelan was commissioned for the North of England in 2009, and this exhibition will chart the making of these instruments and the background and culture which surrounds the music of the Gamelan. There will also be the chance to play on the Gamelan yourself.
