About Vidal Sassoon: The Movie
An uplifting documentary about Sassoon's life and his legacy. An orphan from London, he went on to become a soldier in Israel and eventually, one of the biggest and most enduring names in the hairdressing industry. It is hard to believe today that a haircut could change the world, but in the '60s Sassoon did just that. His philosophy that women's hairstyles should be maintainable at home, that they could 'wash and wear,' freed many people from endless trips to the salon, and led us into a more radical style culture which we still benefit from now. He also created many of the iconic styles of the '60s, and this film features interviews with the man himself as well as admirers like famous fashion designer Mary Quant and interior designer Kelly Hoppen who talk about his influence.
