About The Smurfs

Those little blue people from your childhood have finally gotten their own live action movie in the vein of 'Alvin and The Chipmunks' and 'Beverley Hills Chihuahua'. The smurfs live happily in their cosy, safe village, surrounded by toadstools in a leafy idyll. But one day their nemesis Gargamel (Hank Azaria, 'The Simpsons') attacks, and their booby traps aren't enough to repel him. Aided by his trusty evil pet cat Azrael he forces the smurfs to flee, and they end up in New York. They encounter problems due to their tiny size, like nearly being flushed down toilets and chased by dogs, but they can also take thrilling rides on skateboards and passing birds. Their cuteness endears them to the kindly Grace (Jayma Mays, 'Glee'), but her grumpy husband Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris, 'How I Met Your Mother') takes a little longer to win over. Soon they find themselves helping the smurfs in their quest to return home.
