About The Reluctant Fundamentalist

In Lahore in 2011, a young Pakistani professor named Changez Khan (Riz Ahmed) is talking to American journalist Bobby Lincoln (Liev Schreiber). Changez appears to have an element of radicalism about him, but as he tells his story Bobby comes to realise that he is also a conflicted, empathetic soul. We flash back to ten years earlier, when Changez was a Princeton graduate hand-picked to work at an elite Wall Street firm. His life seems full of promise as he excels at his work and acquires an intelligent, feisty girlfriend (Kate Hudson). However, after the World Trade Centre attacks, he becomes the victim of racial profiling and senses a change in people's attitudes. But having embraced capitalism he finds that he is not completely accepted by his own family back in Pakistan.
