About The Lorax

A CGI tale from the creators of 'Despicable Me.' Ted (Zac Efron) is a resident of Thneed-ville, a plastic-coated suburb in a world devoid of greenery. He goes searching for a legendary living tree outside the walls of his city, in order to impress the girl of his dreams (Taylor Swift). He meets the Once-ler (Ed Helms), once a fresh-faced idealist but now a ruthless businessman. In his youth the Once-ler encountered the Lorax (Danny DeVito), a grumpy creature who speaks for the trees. The Lorax tried to warn the Once-ler of the dangers of over-consumption, but failed, and all the trees are chopped down to make useless trinkets. The Once-ler is partly responsible for his world's drab current state, but the movie aims to teach kids that we all have a part to play when it comes to environmental issues.
