Director: Steve McQueen
Running time: 100 mins Released: 4th January 2012
A controversially explicit drama that is hoping to overturn American preconceptions about films with adult ratings. And if there's anyone who can help bring about a change of attitude in audiences then surely it's handsome, versatile lead actor Michael Fassbender, as equally at home in 'X-Men: First Class' as he is portraying members of the I.R.A. He plays Brandon, an affluent New Yorker whose addiction to sex has left him emotionally empty. His obsession means that he is unable to have healthy relationships and although leading a comfortable life he is frustrated by the control that his sex drive has over his decisions. When his equally damaged sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) comes to stay in his flat, they face conflicting feelings about the shared pain in their past.
