About Much Ado About Nothing
Joss Whedon, best known for creating 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' and directing 'Avengers Assemble', filmed this faithful-to-the-text adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy on his own sprawling Santa Monica estate, with many key players being personal friends and former colleagues. Benedick (Alexis Denisof) and Beatrice (Amy Acker) have a brief relationship history and a palpable romantic attraction, but they are reluctant to commit to each other. Both of them have become somewhat embittered and the sparks fly when they are forced to interact at the home of Leonato (Clark Gregg), Beatrice's uncle. He is throwing a party to welcome his friend Don Pedro (Reed Diamond). Leonato's daughter Hero (Jillian Morgese) is supposed to be marrying Claudio (Fran Kranz), one of Don Pedro's employees. But the evil Don Jon (Sean Maher) decides to trick Claudio, who he views as a rival, into thinking that the blameless Hero is making a fool of him.
