About Mr. Popper's Penguins

A family comedy that has cute penguins and Jim Carrey walking the line between zany humour and strait-laced annoyance. Robert Popper (Carrey) is an uptight real estate agent who cares more about his work than his estranged wife (Carla Gugino, 'Sucker Punch') and two kids. After his father's death in Antarctica, Robert is bequeathed a mysterious box. Inside is a penguin. Soon, five more arrive, and he has to take care of Bitey, Captain, Stinky, Lovey, Loudy and Nimrod, who are named after their dominant characteristics. Sleeping in his bed and luxuriating in his fridge, they drive Robert mad. He is especially on edge as he's in the middle of a prestigious deal with a rich society dame (Angela Lansbury). But he discovers that he can't get rid of the penguins as his kids love them, and soon realises that he's actually having fun with his new, extended family.
