About Moonrise Kingdom

Master of deadpan quirk Wes Anderson assembles an amazing cast for his latest beautifully filmed, idiosyncratic kitsch extravaganza. Set in the 1960s, it concerns a young boy (Jared Gilman) and girl (Kara Hayward) who fall in love and decide to run away together. After sending each other terse notes to plan their escape, they disappear. The small island they live on is thrown into uproar. The girl's mother (Frances McDormand) and father (Bill Murray) are worried for their daughter and have a woman from social services breathing down their necks. She's played by the formidable Tilda Swinton, so they should be scared. Scout Master Ward (Edward Norton) sees a chance to do some 'first class scouting' and uses his ragtag troop to search the island with the help of a no-nonsense police captain (Bruce Willis).
