About How I Spent My Summer Vacation

A madcap gritty action film with hints of black comedy and lots of violence. Mel Gibson stars as Driver, a petty criminal who gets caught at the Mexican border with four million dollars of mobster money while wearing a full clown costume. Rather than handing him back to American law enforcement, the Mexican border patrol send him to El Pueblito, a notorious and overcrowded prison. Driver quickly befriends a tough ten-year-old boy (Kevin Hernandez) who helps him to navigate the prison's complex hierarchy and bartering system whilst they plot an escape. But when Driver hears that a kingpin is determined to get a liver transplant with Driver's new friend as an unwilling donor, he accelerates his make-shift plan with chaotic results.
