About Grace Of Monaco

Set in 1962, six years after her celebrated Wedding of the Century, Grace Of Monaco recounts a year in the life of iconic movie star and Princess Grace Kelly. Grace (played by Nicole Kidman and her immovable forehead) is being courted by Alfred Hitchcock to return to Hollywood. But she also feels the pull of her duties as a mother of two children and wife to Prince Ranier III (Tim Roth). Meanwhile, Charles de Gaulle tries to reclaim Monaco as a French principality and impose new taxation laws that bring him into opposition with the Royal Family. Grace tries to support her husband but their marriage suffers. This should create dramatic tension and evoke sympathy for a woman who appears to have it all while struggling to reconcile her public and private lives, but the film has been derided as a glorified perfume advert.
