A remake of a 1966 crime caper. Harry Deane (Colin Firth) is a downtrodden art curator whose bullying, vulgar boss Lionel Shabandar (Alan Rickman) regularly belittles and humiliates him with his eccentric antics. Seeking revenge, when Harry meets fiery, rough-around-the-edges rodeo champion PJ Puznowski (Cameron Diaz), who resembles Lionel's late wife, he hatches a plan. With the help of his forger friend The Major (Tom Courtenay) he aims to con Lionel out of millions of pounds by convincing him to buy a fake Monet from PJ. All he has to do is fly her to London, fool his boss, stop a camp German (Stanley Tucci) from taking his job and keep his trousers on.
