About Electrick Children

Rachel (Julia Garner) is a teenager living with her fundamentalist Mormon family in Utah. On her 15th birthday, her father Paul (Billy Zane) uses a tape recorder to interview her about her thoughts on religion. Excited by this unfamiliar technology, she sneaks out of the house to listen to her testimony again. She discovers another tape with rock music on it, and the song she hears both frightens and fascinates her. Three months later, she finds out that she is pregnant, and insists to her horrified parents that it must have been the tape. They suspect the involvement of her older brother Mr. Will (Liam Aiken), and resolve to get her away from him as soon as possible through an arranged marriage. Rachel has other plans, and runs off to Las Vegas where she meets a grungey skater (Rory Culkin) who introduces her to foreign secular experiences.
