About Django Unchained

Set in the days of slavery in the American South, this is another of Tarantino's trademark blends of violence and foul-mouthed quips. Django (Jamie Foxx) wants to find his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), who was sold after they tried to run away from a plantation. Django meets charming bounty-hunter King Schulz (Christophe Waltz) who masquerades as a dentist. The pair team up when Schulz realises that Django can help track down his next targets, and buys his freedom. Impressed by Django's skills with firearms, Schulz agrees to help him find Broomhilda. She is being held by Calvin Candie (Leo DiCaprio), a plantation owner with a penchant for opulence, cruelty and moustache-twirling. Overseen by his equally unpleasant servant Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), Candie's Candyland becomes the battleground for a bloody (and viciously funny) fight to the death for Django and Schulz.
