A cheesy, rose-tinted drama that details Princess Diana's private life after her marriage to Prince Charles broke down until her untimely death in a car crash in 1997. Diana (Naomi Watts) has a love affair with handsome Pakistani heart-surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan (Naveen Andrews). His family are unsure about the relationship and while he cares deeply about Diana he is reluctant to become a global celebrity and fears his work could suffer. However, with his secret support Diana flourishes as a campaigner for human rights and begins to hope that they may have a future together. Eventually Hasnat can no longer take the pressure and Diana employs some of her legendary shy charm to captivate Dodi Fayed (Cas Anvar), seemingly to make Hasnat jealous.
