The director of Interview With A Vampire returns to the creatures of the night. Gutsy, practical Clara (Gemma Arterton) and her melancholy daughter Eleanor (Saoirse Ronan) were turned into vampires centuries ago and have lived nomadically ever since. Clara was initially forced into prostitution but now views it as the only means to make money and feeds off the unsavoury individuals she meets. Eleanor on the other hand tries to be an angel of mercy to the ill and dying. When she and Clara come to a seaside town and she meets local boy Frank (Caleb Landry Jones), she longs to tell him about her life but she also has to satiate her hunger. Clara ingratiates herself with a timid hotel owner (Daniel Mays) in the hopes of running a brothel, but a shadowy group of vampires are on their trail.
