About Being Elmo

There are few characters from childhood TV who inspire more fond feelings than Elmo of Sesame Street. More so than Kermit, Big Bird or Oscar the Grouch, cute cuddly forever young Elmo epitomises the innocence and generous spirit of the show. This documentary explores the rise of the man who puppeteers Elmo, Kevin Clash. From his early life in Baltimore where his puppeteering hobby saw him bullied by classmates, Kevin always knew he wanted to work for the Jim Henson Company. And when he achieved his goal, he continued to strive for excellence; today he produces, directs and teaches others, and we are shown his busy life jetting around the globe, tirelessly making promotional appearances. Audiences of all ages will find his determination to bring joy to children both fascinating and admirable.
