About African Cats
A true story with a spectacular backdrop, African Cats captures the behaviour of the majestic kings of the savannah. Riding on the wave of popularity created by March Of The Penguins and Crimson Wing, this documentary is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and features breathtaking footage of a variety of big cats (and some little ones) in the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. Mara is a young lion cub who must learn from her mother's strength and wisdom if she is to survive the harsh realities of Africa. Sita is a cheetah with five mischievous and extremely cute cubs. And at the top of the pecking order is Fang, a leader of the pride who must defend his family from a rival who has returned to the fold. Like the Lion King without Elton John songs, this film follows the animals through an environment that is as beautiful as it is dangerous.
