About A Dangerous Method

A costume drama about two of the 20th Century's greatest minds and the woman who helped and hindered them on their path to glory. Sigmund Freud (Viggo Mortensen) is the founding father of psychoanalysis, but in the early 1900s his work was deeply controversial. Fellow psychologist Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender) is an avid reader of his work. One day, a young medical student named Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley) is carried kicking and screaming into the Zurich clinic where Jung works. He tries to make sense of Sabina's disordered mind using Freud's revolutionary talking cure. Although traumatised by an abusive father, Sabina is beautiful and intelligent, and Jung (a respectable family man) tries to fight his growing attraction. When he meets Freud his ideas and judgement become clouded by doubt.
