Arctic Monkeys

Arctic Monkeys appearing at this event

From their humble beginnings as a myspace buzz band, Sheffield's finest indie upstarts, fronted by the cocky but ever clever Alex Turner, still hold the mantle for achieving the fastest selling debut album for a band in British history, even beating the likes of Oasis and the Beatles. Now only that, but all of their albums have reached the no.1 position on the UK album charts. Still looking good on the dancefloor, Alex's vocals and lyrics may have matured over the years, but they still continue to deliver their addictive brash guitar tunes with gritty yet witty lyrics.

Gorillaz appearing at this event

The world has gone ape for the celebrity hip-hop supergroup primarily conceived by Blur frontman Damon Albarn and Tank Girl artist Jamie Hewlett, a sound defined by alternative hip-hop and pop sensibilities and framed by hilariously twisted cartoon band members. Gorillaz have enjoyed multi-platinum success as well as a plethora of awards and nominations - an outstanding achievement for a mere "virtual" band!

Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons appearing at this event

One of the most successful acts to come out of the first decade of the 21st century's English folk revival, London's Mumford & Sons' agreeable fusion of bluegrass, folk, country, and rock has found favour with audiences all around the world. Formed in 2007 by singer / guitarist / drummer Marcus Mumford, vocalist and banjo / Dobro player Winston Marshall, vocalist / keyboardist Ben Lovett, and vocalist / bassist Ted Dwane, the quartet bonded over their shared love of roots music - their moniker is meant to invoke the impression of an antiquated family business name. At that time the West London folk scene was becoming increasingly vibrant with the arrival of fellow new traditionalists like Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale and Johnny Flynn but Mumford & Sons have gone on to outsell and outshine them all with their success!
