The Decatonics are a high energy brass driven ska/mod/soul band based in Dorset, combining some of Bournemouth's best and finest ska musicians. Formed in 2012 with the aim of creating a high energy feel good ska band playing all the hits and more to keep you on your feet. Since our formation our musical tastes have taken us into soul and mod aswell, and the band has become renonwed for its unique ska takes on these genres. With the vocal pairing of Sal and Tyrone every song has that special something, Sal's soulful voice, and Tyrone s great range and fantastic harmonies never disappoint. 3 saxes and a trombone make up the brass section who try to authentically recreate the great ska sounds with the passion in which they were wrote. The brilliant backline is made up of pure talent, from the driving duo of Steve on drums and rowan on bass, and not to mention the fantastically, authentically re-created keyboards from Pete. You're onto a winner!. During their time on the scene they have been fortunate enough to gain a loyal following and some great friends. They have also been lucky enough to become a mainstay at many festivals and live music venues on the Southcoast including Mr Kyps. We have also gained a good reputation as a scooter sounds band. They have been privileged during their time on the scene to support such ska and mod greats as, Bad Manners, The Lambrettas, King Hammond and Neville Staple.
