The Prodigy

One of the biggest innovators in commercial dance music since 1990, musical genius Liam Howlett and his colleagues were at the forefront of the rave explosion ('Experience'), early techno/trance/dance crossovers ('Jilted Generation') and rap/punk,techno fusion ('Fat Of the Land'). The Prodigy always cut a solitary path through the noise-scapes of electronic dance music, releasing epoch defining studio albums and delivering unforgettable live performances that have taken electronic beats into unchartered territories. Throughout this time they remained resolutely focused on their own vision, inspiring legions of artists along the way. Frontman, Keith Flint, sadly died in March 2019 at the age of 49.

Nelly Furtado

From humble beginnings with folky-pop ballad I’m Like A Bird, Nelly Furtado has proved herself as one of the driving forces in female R’n’B. Known for her musical eclecticism, experimenting with styles as diverse as pop, hip-hop, R’n’B and Latin, it’s her unique, Hispanic-tinged voice that has gained her most notoriety. In 2006, she won the Best Female Rock/Pop Act at the World Music Awards, gaining a place next to musical royalty Madonna, Beyonce and Kanye West.

Maribou State

Despite growing up in the same picturesque village, Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, aka Maribou State, customarily ignored each other at school, but discovered their shared passion for music at university in Leeds and became firm friends. Since then they have steadily built a glowing reputation via their debut album, a string of well-loved EPs, and a fistful of remixes (Including Kelis, Lana Del Rey, and Ultraísta). Plaudits from the electronic press have flowed thick and fast alongside support from radio heavyweights: Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Annie Mac, Giles Peterson, and Pete Tong amongst others. Intrigued by the dynamics of electronic music for the dance floor as much as with the richness and human quality of live instrumentation and song craft, the have worked tirelessly to evolve and forge a unique, compelling and deeply soulful marriage of the organic and the synthetic, showcased on their debut LP, Portraits.
