Deafheaven appearing at this event

Deafheaven are a genre defying aggressive Metal band from San Francisco, CA. Their hybrid musical approach is outright stunning. A melding of epic Post Rock leanings (Envy, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) with experimental Black Metal (Xasthur, Weakling, Leviathan), and classic era "Screamo" (Orchid, Crimson Curse) into something never successfully experienced before.

Alcest appearing at this event

This French band play 'music from another world, a world that is real, but that exists beyond ours and cannot be grasped by our senses. A world where all appearances - trees, glades, streams - emit a pearly light and where a faraway and celestial music fills the air like sweet perfume.'

Touché Amoré

Touché Amoré appearing at this event

Touche Amore are a thought provoking, passionate hardcore/punk band from Los Angeles, California. From the first strikes of their angular yet melodic chords, it's apparent that Touche Amore have awoken something long forgotten in the hardcore/punk genre. Bringing to mind the balance of rage and melody that "Revolution Summer" era DC bands Rites of Spring and Ignition once carried. Within each song they build an awe inspiring musical tension while impassioned vocalist Jeremy Bolm's shouts resonate, ripe with intellectual introspection. This collective outpouring of traditional hardcore anger and emotional hardcore openness ultimately coalesces into something beautiful, vulnerable, and refreshingly real.

Daughters appearing at this event

In 2001, Providence, Rhode Island was the setting for the inception of mathcore 5-piece Daughters (not to be referred to as 'The Daughters') after certain members' former band, As The Sun Sets, bit the dust. Daughters belong to Hydra Head records, home of Pelican, Cave In and Khanate, and look set to carry on that tradition of guitar music with one foot in metal, one in science and a third, deformed appendage sinking happily into monstrous noise.

Brutus appearing at this event

Stefanie, Stijn and Peter teamed up to start Brutus in 2013. They all met while playing in different bands from the same region of Leuven (Belgium). In merging their different ideas and musical tastes they have formed a strong union, both musically and personally. Drummer / vocalist Stefanie mixes black-metal blast beats with math-rock flourishes whilst belting out the most impassioned vocals, shifting from deceptively melodic to out-right larynx-punishing in the blink of an eye. Guitarist Stijn Vanhoegaerden takes ethereal post-rock tones to hardcore punk levels of speed and energy aside Peter Mulders powerful sub-frequency shifts. It’s the way in which the band mixes post-rock construction, metal dynamics with hardcore energy and prog rock all the while lacing it with pure pop melodies that make Brutus’ sound so unique and all their own.

Portrayal of Guilt have carved themselves out as a unique force in the realms of post-hardcore and screamo; their self-titled 7” and ‘Chamber of Misery (Pt. I)’ 5” releases are exemplary exercises in intensity, not to mention the razor-sharp assault delivered on their split with industrial-metallers Street Sects.
