Graham Caskie

Particularly renowned for his interpretations of the piano music of Debussy, Ravel, Brahms and Schubert, Graham Caskie is also a keen advocate of contemporary music; his first CD recording in 1993 comprised works by British composers Michael Tippett, (the Third Sonata, which he had previously studied with the composer), Paul Patterson, John McCabe and Nigel Clarke.

Caskie has since had several works specially written for him by Christian Alexander,Matthew King, Stephen Goss and now, in preparation for 2012, a new work by John Cooney.

El Mestengo, written in 2008 by Dutch pianist and composer Marcel Baudet, was premiered by Graham Caskie at the Bimhuis and recorded in Holland in 2010.
