A special month of exhibitions, talks, performances and debate on the role of art in protest. From individual statements to mass demonstrations, protest has taken many forms, often drawing upon the arts to help voice objection. From the sixties CND and Greenham Women’s Peace Camp, eighties environmental road protests, through to the Berlin Wall and the fall of communism, the Arab Spring and the arrest of Pussy Riot protest is never far from the headlines.
