The DIY Nativity: Bryony Kimmings, Sam Halmarack, Stuart Bowden
It's Christmas time… There's no need to be afraid! Unless of course you've been tasked with creating the most spectacular nativity of all time using only your wardrobe, some old instruments, a mountain of cardboard and a sleigh load of charm...
The DIY Nativity features fat lazy Santas, three kings, Christmas hits, flat pack construction, the Queen's speech, a little donkey, spectacular costumes and lots more. Escape the sprouts, stuffing and stocking fillers for a riotous celebration of all things festive. It's a celebratory cross between a Generation Game Christmas special, a wonky school play - and the mother of all family fights.
This show is for bauble lovers and bah humbugs alike with pressies, cheering, shouting and competitions. All three performers have their own ideas for the perfect Christmas and keep tying to 'out Christmas' each other. With the help of the audience, they battle each other to create the best Christmas experience, leading to japes, scrapes and screams.
The nativity story is the backbone but this is a show about the whole Christmas experience - sharing your own festive stories and enjoying the holiday spirit. Something for everyone regardless of background or beliefs.
Suitable for all the family from 4 years and over - and there are also two late night versions for grown ups (over 16s only).
This event takes place at Cambridge Junction, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Artist and performer who flits between improvised chat and highly polished acts of song, poetry and dance. She creates full-length performance works, cabaret acts, homemade music, audio installations and spoken word.
Briony is inspired by the taboos and anomalies of British culture. Her work is larger than life, somewhat unpredictable and above all fun.
'...a heroine fit for the 21st century and there's not a princess in sight' (The Guardian on Credible, Likeable, Superstar Role Model).
